On Movies vs. The World
It never ceases to amaze me the amount of money put into films. From cast payments to special effects…most movies easily push over $200 million. And for what? Roughly 2 hours of show that a majority of the world will never see.
Now don’t get me wrong, I like movies. They’re entertainiment. Some allow one to step outside of reality and take part in an elaborate fantasy world,...

In relation to my week eighteen video...
I should have mentioned not all of those questions/statements are particularly rude to me. Some, such as the pretty girl and name asking ones, are just annoying after a certain period of time.
I suppose this just further proves that we’re all different, but some of these questions genuinely don’t bother me. My partner has asked some of these “rude” questions before, merely out of curiousity and...

On Being a Transman Of Color
Excerpt from Sebastian’s post.
What she brought to my attention was how difficult this can be for African-American transmen. ”The world relates to black women VERY differently than to black men.”
Wanted to touch base with this topic a bit.
Even though I’m not considered far into my transition, and my social setting is a great deal different than most other transpeople, I have...

Little people deserve respect too.
As most of my followers know, I recently started a job at a child development center. The center itself is shelter for humans between 6 weeks and 6 years old. I work with 2 -3 year olds who are all at different levels [some know their colors and numbers, other don’t].
Being that I’m the new guy on the block I’m not allowed to stay in a room alone with said little people. So...

Interesting the way people work.
Generally speaking…people
don’t support gays until someone they meet someone who is and has possibly been victimized because of it.
don’t support HIV/AIDS research until someone they know contracts said disease.
don’t support a Black American in office until he does something to help them.
don’t support Haiti until it gets brought to it’s knees by an...

01.12.10
Work was great. Not even kidding or being sarcastic. The best thing was that everyone called me Shaan and/or male pronouns. The kids called me Mister Shaan. I don’t know if my supervisor went around and told everyone but I don’t think so. At most I think she just said “we have a new guy taking notes today,” if anything. Either way it was a really good feeling.
Once I got...
To my heterosexual followers...tell us your coming...
What was it like? Telling your parents and friends like you like the opposite gender? How did they react? Did you lose any friends or respect from people?

Job
In relation to my last post about the conversation with my supervisor, she was accepting of it. She called me Shaan from that point on and even corrected herself on the pronouns when she said “OMG GIRL!” by accident. Then she advised that, as I’ll be working with 50 women, I keep my business to myself. Needless to say I was going to do that anyway, but I’m glad she warned...

Conversation with my new supervisor
Me: Can I talk to you?
Her: Yeah sure, close the door. What's up?
Me: I go by Shaan and male pronouns. Mumblemumblemumbletransgendermumblemumblemumblemumblemumble. My last job was cool with it, everyone I know calls me that so it's pretty much a universal thing.
Her: [o_O] DID YOU SAY YOU'RE HAVING A SEX CHANGE!?

Which Sex Am I?
There is a documentary by that title on my television right now.
Moving documentary following the story of Jacob, a baby born with ambiguous genitals, and the agonising task facing the mother, who must decide on the child’s gender.
I started watching it about halfway in [was playing COD], and right now they’re talking about surgery and removing the uterus or something. Jacob...

01.09.10: Club Night
Had a nice time. Got in for free. Met a few new people, kicked it with some I’m already familiar with. Watched some super drunk guy molest girls, then told on him, and watched him get kicked out. Was asked to dance about 863738723 times…once by a girl I just met. Unfortunately I rejected all said offers. I’m not that comfortable with things just yet. I did “pass” the...

So where are you from?
Common question for everyone. One of the founding questions when first getting to know someone. Usually preceded by “What’s your name?” and proceeded with “What’s it like there?” or something along those lines. It seems like a simple enough question to answer, right?
For most, yes. But not for people like me. Not for a military brat who spent their young life...

It's interesting how people judge/label me as this...
but when they actually talk to me via AIM or another personal system they end up dropping 99% of their initial thoughts on me. I’ve had people tell me they were intimidated by me because they thought I was one of those diva man-bitches who thought they owned the world, or because I speak strongly and/or aggressively about about certain things. Then when they got to know me outside of forums...

Being "Too" Down For The Cause.
Hate to be the one to break it to you ladies, but a few of you go a bit too far in the feminist movement. Yes, we get it. You believe women should have equal rights and be seen as humans, not meat. And that’s great. Personally I agree 8946723467% and I let it be known when necessary.
However.
Everything in the world isn’t sexist [in an anti-woman sense], as you all so often put it....

FTM SRS Breakdown
Reader discretion is advise, as this topic may cause some to feel uncomfortable and/or cause awkward mental images.
Female-To-Male: Someone who was born biologically female, but personally identifies as boy or man. Also known as transmen, transguys, bois, and FTMs.
Testosterone: A natural hormone produced by both sexes, but much less so in biologically female persons. Testosterone, also known as...

I can't stand when servicemembers wear their...
By servicemembers I mean people in the armed forces, and by out I mean off duty and going somewhere random. Note that I’m speaking about all branches, however it’s typically only Sailors [Navy] and Marines that do this [the latter being the most arrogant].
They put on their dress uniforms and go to a public place or event such as Six Flags, sports games, or even a flight to wherever...
