You may never understand why we do what we do
Recently I made a post about packing, or my lack thereof. An acquaintance of mine by the name of JC responded with the following:
I still never really understood this. It just seems like a lot of extra hassle.
I was going to respond via email, but realized I accidentally deleted his address. So I figured I would make a post of it.
For starters, let me reiterate the fact that cisgender people may...

Hatemail
It amazes me how much time and effort people put in responding hatemail on Tumblr, or anywhere else.
Granted that on Tumblr I honestly think people send themselves hate mail, as to seem “cool.” Why? Because as long as I’ve been on this website I’ve never gotten that many messages from people, or known anyone else who has - except these few particular people. But, of...

Apparently my business has become everyone elses...
I will never understand why socially accepted people [read: cisgender heterosexuals] get the idea that someone else’s business is theirs to tell. Almost every time I’m about to encounter a queer person, their socially accepted friend says something like “Hey, here comes SoAndSo. They are SuchAndSuch…but don’t say I told you and don’t make it seem like a big...
I'm a quiet person
I really realize and came to terms with that the other night while hanging with friends and acquaintances. I don’t so much mind going out and socializing once every blue moon, but when doing so I don’t need to be the center of attention and have everyone remember that I’m there. I’m fine with just sitting there and noticing the things people do when they think no one is...

Gays can't be priests, that's why we have all this...
Just came back from a day with friends, one of which is more a friend-of-a-friend. She’s a stateside civilian so today was everyone else’s first time meeting her. Anyway, we were all having a little late-night conversation and somehow managed to get into the topic of gays. Then I brought up this very religious guy two of us used to know who everyone swore was gay. The...

On men hitting women
A few minutes ago I saw Christiana’s post about Katt Stacks getting slapped. I then IMed her about the situation. She’s mad at me now, as I expect many others of you will be upon reading what I have to say. But it’s my blog, and my opinion. Keep that in mind.
As you can see in the video, Kat didn’t try to hit anyone in any way. She was just sitting at [what looks like] a...

People don't exist to appease your prying...
Recently I had a Twitterized conversation with Cory about his curiousity of a friends’ eyepatch. I seemed to be the only person who fully understood what I’m saying. That happens a lot these days. Perhaps because I know what it’s like to have people constantly ask things that has nothing to do with anything and is none of their business. Refer here for further explanation and...

FTM/MTF vs. Man/Woman
I know a few trans friends that don’t like to claim their trans identity but would much rather just be referred to as man or woman. How do you feel about yourself personally? Would you rather be referred to as just a male with no strings attached or a transman?
That’s perfectly understandable. I know people like this as well, just as I’m familiar with people who do other...

Do what touches you versus what touches them?
I’m still sitting here trying to figure out what five images to submit for my mini-portfolio. I once heard [I believe on a TV show] that judges prefer people who submit pictures they love versus pictures they think are impressive. Does anyone else believe this to be true? So far everyone has told me to be impressive versus an individual.
Because of that I’m having a lot of trouble...

"You float in between real shit and whining."
A few minutes ago, Benga made this post about tagging the people he follows. I proceeded to IM him and ask where I fell, already knowing the answer but wanting confirmation. The title quote is what he said.
I’m not offended by his statement in the least bit. It’s true. Lately I have been spending a majority of my time on Tumblr complaining about this and that. It’s gotten to the...

Topic Suggestion: American Society
Write about what you think is fucked up in American society..like on how Americans think compared to people in other societies.
-Jay
I could go all over the place with this, but I won’t. Or at least I’ll try not to. But we all know how that usually goes…
One major issue I have with the American society is that we [generally speaking] think we’re the king of the jungle. We believe...

Just do what you can
One night a few years ago I was on my way home from where ever. Suddenly, a usually easy-flow street gets jam-packed with cars. It soon becomes obvious that everyone is stopping to look at something because the car at the very is going super slow, then speeds off. I assumed it was a car accident or some kids fighting [rough neighbourhood, shit happens]. We [meaning my father and I] finally get to...

It takes a lot of courage to be yourself when who...
I recently heard this quote in a video and it really struck a chord with me. Why? Because it’s unbelievably true.
The world we live in today has such concern for what everyone else is doing. If they don’t like what you do behind closed doors, they’ll assault and protest to their hearts content. And unfortunately, a great deal of the time the assault and protest is perfectly...

Everything happens for a reason?
Today I hung out with a friend from high school. She’s back in the country for summer break. We were driving home from the gym [which was a fail for me by the way, but that’s another post in itself] when she began to talk about how she believe everything happens for a reason.
She gave two pretty good examples, both of which happened today.
The first was how she overslept, and her...

Tops & Bottoms
For those not in tune with the gay male world, let me define the title words:
Top: Fucker
Bottom: Fuckee
We all have a general understanding now? Good.
I have an issue with these labels. Not so much the fact that they exist, because they do serve a good purpose. It sums up ones preferred sexual position with a single term.
However.
To many, it also sums up the sort of person you are and...

Sir Introverted Extrovert the First
I’ve come to realize that they only people who get noticed in the world are those who are loud, outspoken, and outgoing. The extroverted if you will. They’re the ones with the friends and the connections and the invites to all sorts of events.
People like me, who are quiet [to say the least], don’t get noticed. There is nothing to notice about us [unless you find the whole...

Since I'm Black [Part Two]
Have you ever looked around at what society calls Black?
Black music consists of 1/3 coonery, 1/3 pure greatness, and 1/3 I don’t even know what else.
Black style is defined by “urbanizing” [previously called N—-atizing] everything.
All of this [and more] is the reason some people have the mentality that if one doesn’t act...

On the [possible] Semenya boycott
For those who don’t know, Caster Semenya is the young South African runner who won gold in the 2009 World Championships in Athletics, only to have her accomplishment belittled and prize [temporarily] revoked due to the discovery that she had intersex features.
After all the harassment and embarrassment they’ve put Semenya through - now they’re trying to boycott the next event...

People expect everyone to care about them when...
Think about it.
America [as a general nation] expects everyone else to come to their aid when things like September 11th happen, but don’t even have the common decency to return the favour when things like the issue in Iran happens.
Human beings expect everyone to flock to them like sheep, wanting to be friends, but don’t put any effort into meeting others halfway. That’s...

Responses to "I Love You, Phillip Morris"
elhassouni3: As a Jim Carrey fan, I’m very disappointed by him, I started watching the movie without knowing the plot at all, and then there’s the gay fact, which don’t bother me at certain point, if the movie is funny then it’s funny…but after like 45 minutes, I decided to stop watching this movie because it began to be very disgusting as I don’t really want...

Don't bitch at someone for not knowing
Recently I reblogged a post in which someone basically bitched out people for not realizing someone was a guy, not a lesbian.
Now, as stated in my reblog, I agree with the person in question. However their method of approach is just off to me.
You can’t get mad at someone for not knowing. That’s like when this guy got mad at me for asking how school was going when I didn’t even...

Wheel*
I wanted to say, you are really, really cool, and I would like to be friends. You should move to San Francisco. :) (Though it is quite expensive….) I was also wondering how you realized you are transgender? Did it just hit you like an epiphany, or was it like you just slowly came to realize it?
Thanks! Little odd that you want to be friends but asked this anonymously, but that’s...

Since I'm Black [Part One]
This post contains a bunch of overreacting/overanalyzing. I’m in one of those moods so let me do my thing. If you don’t want to let me do my thing, then you can do your thing by scrolling past this post. Do not send me an anonymous message talking about how negative I am. This is my blog - remember that.
Anywho.
A few days ago I received a question asking for old school hip hop...

I try to remember that I'm still young
I tend to look at pictures and get into a depressed mood. They can be images of anything from people to cities, or even some random dog. No matter what I always begin to think about all the things I haven’t experienced, but almost easily could have.
Then I try to remind myself that I’m still young. I’m only 19-years-old, for those who don’t know. This portion of my life is...

Non-Ethnic people with Dreadlocks
There is a small [read: one person] debate on my dashboard about non-Ethnic people [read: White] who get dreadlocks. The original post that sparked it all is from someone I don’t follow.
I completely understand BrownTransElements’ [original poster] side of it, however I disagree. Partially because a pamphlet isn’t much of a defense, but mainly because I don’t see anyone...

What do you want out of life [part two]?
Recently I asked the title question to people both on and off Tumblr. Here are some responses, minus their names:
J: Besides the things that were embedded in my mind by my family, getting my surgeries, making a lot of money, and having a family I don’t know what I truly want.
C: To help people and to be rich at the same time. And to have a big family of adopted kiddies.
R: Stability....
